- Get a USB Drive: You need an 8GB (or larger) USB flash drive; it will be erased.
- Open Chrome: On your Windows 10 PC, open the Chrome browser.
- Add Recovery Utility: Search for and add the Chromebook Recovery Utility extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Launch Utility: Open the extension and click Get started.
- Select ChromeOS Flex: Choose Select a model from a list, then pick Google ChromeOS Flex as the manufacturer and product.
- Create Installer: Click Continue, select your USB drive, and click Create now to flash the OS onto the drive.

- Restart PC: Plug the USB into the target computer and restart it, pressing the boot menu key (like F12, F2, Del—search your PC model if unsure) to enter the boot menu.
- Disable Secure Boot (If Needed): In the BIOS/UEFI settings, you might need to disable "Secure Boot" before booting from USB.
- Boot from USB: Select the USB drive from the boot menu to start Chrome OS Flex.
- Choose Install: At the welcome screen, click Get started, then choose Install ChromeOS Flex (this erases your Windows installation).
- Complete Setup: Follow the on-screen prompts to sign in with your Google account, connect to Wi-Fi, and finish.
