New Horizon School for the Performing Arts follows curriculum that meets the Arizona State Core Standards.
Instruction focuses on the basics of education centering on core academic areas: math, reading, language arts, social studies, science, writing, music and PE.
The core content areas of the performing arts program are: dance, music, drama, and theatre.
Orchestra is for 4-6th graders only.
Teachers are expected to follow grade-level curriculum guides provided in all core areas.
The curriculum guides include a listing of student outcomes, describing what the student will learn at each level.
By pre-testing and observing students at the beginning and throughout the year, the teacher will determine the appropriate learning level of each student.
New Horizon uses Galileo for pre testing, quarterly testing, and weekly assessments. This program allows the teacher to be able to assess the students needs.
