Listen to the world around you, there is music everywhere,
Just step outside your doorway, and you can hear music in the air!
From the city to the farm and field, to the rushing river free,
there's music all around us, there's music in you and me!
- - - Refrain (Chorus) - - -
Come on and step into the spotlight! Come on and step into the spotlight!
Let it shine, shine, shine on our music and our song.
Come on and step into the spotlight! Come on and step into the spotlight
Let it shine! Let it shine on every one!

-- 2nd Verse --
In a world of sound and color, in a rhythm all its own,
It's the heartbeat of America, the land we proudly call our home!
From the city to the farm and field, to the hope that's shining bright
So sing out strong, America, and step into the light!
- - - Refrain Twice (Chorus) - - -
Come on and step into the spotlight! Come on and step into the spotlight!
Let it shine, shine, shine on our music and our song.
Come on and step into the spotlight! Come on and step into the spotlight
Let it shine! Let it shine on every one!
